Meet #OYGHero Aaron Vanschoor, a West Virginia University student from Northern Virginia! Aaron is the evening supervisor and greeter at the West Virginia Botanic Garden at Tibbs Run Preserve in Morgantown, WV. Aaron knew COVID-19 would greatly affect his senior year. He decided embracing the great outdoors was the best way to stay healthy and make quarantining easier at the University of over 30,000 students. His professor mentioned the Botanic Garden needed help in the evenings and Aaron decided he was just the guy for the job.
He volunteers 4 nights a week and makes sure everyone is safe while using the walking trails, hiking trails, boardwalks, and meditation gardens at this amazing and free nature preserve. Aaron said that he is very happy to be helping. The need for social distancing has made the walking and hiking trails very busy in the evenings this fall. You the man Aaron! Definitely #TeamOYG.
The West Virginia Botanic Garden is located between Morgantown and Cheat Lake and is currently accepting new volunteers and donations. https://www.wvbg.org
